Welcome to Goodnola! My name is Kelly and I am the creator of Goodnola. I was born and raised in a very small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. My family owned and operated two small resorts there and that was my home growing up. Along with the resorts, we ran a restaurant for our guests. From as early as I can remember, I was always in the kitchen helping my parents cook. My mother made everything from scratch - bread and pies baked every day and dinner specials every night. It was being raised in this environment that helped me grow up with a love of cooking and baking, an entrepreneurial spirit and a demanding taste for quality in everything I touch.
Goodnola was actually born out of one of these old family recipes. I used to bake batches to give away to friends and co-workers during the holidays or as hostess gifts. Everyone that I gave it to loved it and would either ask for the recipe (which I would always politely refuse to give!) or simply ask for more! It wasn't long before I couldn't afford to keep making it and giving it all away so I decided to start a little business out of it. People that haven't tried it yet always ask how it's any different from other packages of granola that line the store shelves - believe me, I know there are many. I tell them it's simple - it's just really good!
Each batch of Goodnola is mixed by hand and baked in small batches using only the best quality ingredients. We use pure Maple Syrup from Hamel, Minnesota and dried cherries from Traverse City, Michigan. We don't use any artificial flavors or preservatives, just good, natural ingredients. What you get is just a delicious granola that I hope you will enjoy eating as much as I do!
